I bought a 1079 trap a few days ago to capture a pesky raccoon for a neighbor who insists on feeding his cat outdoors. I baited the trap with a piece of tortilla spread with honey. Three hours later, I had a raccoon. I had two dry days after that, when the bait was gone but no critter was inside, so I then tucked the same bait UNDER the trap, right behind the trigger plate, and caught four more, smaller raccoons on consecutive nights. Apparently the smaller ones could reach through the mesh to get the bait if I left it on the floor of the trap or hanging from the top, but they couldn't figure out how to get it out from under the trap, so they went inside. Mission accomplished!

Got that stray cat! Works great and no more "visitors". Now a friend is doing the same.
