Independent Testing on Mosquito Magnet® Traps
Independent tests have proven that the Mosquito Magnet® is more effective and captures more types of biting insects and mosquitoes than any other mosquito traps on the market. Following is a summary of the studies, with the full tests available for download.
Hawaii, Aug/Sep 2004
Five commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® with Lurex3™ as the secondary attractant, performed significantly better than all other traps tested for collecting total Culicidae. All Mosquito Magnet® products utilizing Lurex3™ collected significantly more Aedes albopictus than the competitor trap using octenol.
21 Mosquito Magnet® traps were placed along the nature trail in an effort to reduce mosquito populations. The traps had a very significant impact on the mosquito populations on Atsena Otie.
Eight commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty and Mosquito Magnet® Liberty Plus, both utilizing Octenol as the additional attractant, performed significantly better than all other traps tested.
Seven commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty and Liberty Plus performed significantly better than all other traps tested.
The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty was tested against the Coleman "Mosquito Deleto" and the Applica "Sonic Web." The Mosquito Magnet® captured nearly 200 times more mosquitoes than competing products.
U.S. Army Medical Command, the Centers for Disease Control, Republic of Korea
Field tests of seven different mosquito traps were conducted where recent outbreaks of malaria had occurred. The Mosquito Magnet® captured 3 times more mosquitoes than the next most effective trap, and over 13 times as many as other traps using CO2 and Octenol attractants.
U.S. Coast Guard, Bahamas
The Coast Guard used the Mosquito Magnet® to reclaim its Bahamian station that had become uninhabitable due to swarming mosquitoes. Six Mosquito Magnet®s captured 1.5 million mosquitoes in just six days.
LIMITED WARRANTY
This warranty, (1) year from the purchase of the unit, is extended only to the original purchaser/user of products.
Woodstream Corp. warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period by the original purchaser/user.
For warranty service, please contact our Customer Service (800) 953-5737. Please indicate the nature of the defect.
If Woodstream Corp. determines there may be a defect, Woodstream Corp. will issue a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. The defective unit or parts must be returned for warranty inspection using the RGA number, when applicable, as identification within (30) days of return authorization date. DO NOT return products to our factory without our prior consent, as they, as well as C.O.D. shipments will be refused. Woodstream Corp., at its option, shall replace the unit, replace the defective part(s) and return such unit to you. Woodstream Corp.'s sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be limited to such replacement.
Limitations and Exclusions:
The warranty shall not apply to problems arising from normal wear, or failure to adhere to the enclosed instructions. In addition, the foregoing warranty shall not apply to serial numbered products if the serial number has been removed or defaced; products subject to negligence, accident, improper operation, maintenance or storage; products damaged by circumstances beyond Woodstream Corp.'s control; or products modified (including, but not limited to modifications through the use of unauthorized parts or attachments) or repaired by anyone other than Woodstream Corp. or its designee.
The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. It shall not extend beyond the duration of the express warranty provided herein, and the remedy for violations of any warranty shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective product pursuant to the terms contained herein. Woodstream Corp. shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages whatsoever.

On Long Island Sound in South Norwalk,Connecticut, nine Mosquito Magnets installed along the shores of our "island" community have given us back our evenings to enjoy outside. We are a small private community of 103 homes and have marsh on two sides and the Sound on the other two. Tidal mud flats abound, the breeding grounds for no-see-ums (midges). You add in both marsh and fresh-water mosquitoes, and you have major bug biting problems.
I first became aware of the Magnets through my job with Golf Digest magazine, and I realized that here was a way to regain our evenings. We can now eat outside on our deck and not be driven in. Most of us spend our summers outside, and since the midge population began to crash, we can now adventure out without our bodies slathered in bug repellent.. There is no adverse effect on the environment, and it requires only a small amount of time to change the tank and insert a new octenol cartridge about every three weeks, no sacrifice at all to pay for bite-free evenings.

I have to say I'm really impressed with the way your product works. Last night was the first night we ran it. Even with the wind and rain it managed to catch approximately 250 mosquitoes, 500 no-see-ums (which I didn't even know we had). I set the bag up like a bird cage in my office so that everyone who was skeptical could see what I call the 'New Hampshire State Bird'.
